Third Party Control - Playback of specific filenames?

Hello,

I'm looking to use a B400S as a sound effects player instead of a traditional music player. Our customer may be changing files frequently on a UNC Network Share (Windows or NAS) that we can map to the B400S. 

If we know the filenames, is it possible with the API to trigger playback of specific files? 

I've looked at the Crestron Module Package and while it seems to work well for browsing media, it doesn't appear to do what we're looking for.

  You can... and this information is included in our Simple API... but it's probably easier to create a Playlist and then trigger that playlist from a preset.

  What part of the API should I be looking at? I'm not seeing anything about playing specific filenames, or how to specify them. 

  The trouble with doing a playlist is that the filenames may change which would mean making a new playlist, wouldn't it? I also don't need to play files back to back...
